The North Carolina Society (NCS) is pleased to announce that applications for the 2026–2027 academic year are now open! These scholarships recognize academic achievement, community service, leadership, and strong ties to the State of North Carolina. NCS will award four (4) scholarships of $5,000 each, payable in two equal installments of $2,500 per semester for Fall 2026 and Spring 2027.
Deadline – Submit all application materials in one email to northcarolinasociety@gmail.com with the subject line “2026 SCHOLARSHIP – [First and Last Name]” no later than 5:00 PM ET on June 1, 2026
Eligibility Requirements – Applicants must meet both Enrollment and Connection requirements:
1. Enrollment – Be enrolled in, or entering (with confirmation), an accredited public or private college or university for the 2026–2027 academic year.
2. North Carolina Connection – Applicants must meet at least one of the following:
Born in North Carolina
Currently reside in North Carolina
Child or close family member of a current NCS member in good standing
Enrolled at an accredited college or university located in North Carolina
Sponsored by a current NCS member in good standing
Applicants who do not know an NCS member may request consideration for sponsorship matching by emailing northcarolinasociety@gmail.com, subject line: “SPONSOR REQUEST – [First and Last Name]”
Application Submission Requirements
1. Transcript(s)
· Unofficial transcripts are acceptable
· Incoming first-year students should submit high school transcripts
2. Two Letters of Recommendation
One from a teacher, professor, employer, or academic advisor
One from a current North Carolina Society member
(if unknown, see sponsorship details above)
3. Personal Letter addressed to the Scholarship Committee describing each of the following:
Academic background and performance
Educational and career goals
Extracurricular involvement and community service
Reasons for seeking a scholarship
Financial need (optional but encouraged if relevant)
Optional supplemental info, if applicable: Special ties to North Carolina; Unique circumstances or achievements; Prior NCS scholarship recipient status (note: repeat winners eligible); Other scholarships or funding sources, including academic, foundation, and athletic/NIL awards (note: applicants receiving full tuition funding for the academic year must disclose and may be ineligible for award consideration).
